Inspiring Scenery

Today we were supposed to drive to Boulder to hike with the dogs. Thanks to our trip to the dog park on Sunday, Izzy is limping on one of her feet. I really wanted to bring the dogs to Boulder, so we stayed close by and discovered an amazing wildlife refuge right in our backyard!

About 30 minutes north of where we live we saw bison, a coyote, a herd of mule deer, tons of prairie dogs, and lots of different birds =)

Apparently the bison have been known to charge people so it is required to stay in your car while in the bison pasture area.

There are actually four of them, one more was laying down.

This one on the right has some decent horns =)

First coyote I've ever seen! It seemed curious at first, but before I could get a pic it started running away.

The prairie dogs at the wildlife refuge seemed extremely used to people. We had to honk at one because it wouldn't get out of the way!
