Brainard Lake is a beautiful lake set right in between a few mountains =)
We got to the park where the lake was located and as we were looking at the map we decided to take the Cross Country Ski Trail. Obviously we are not from where it snows because that wasn't the best idea! Apparently the trail follows a creek bed that is frozen in the winter, but completely flooded in the summer. We took probably twice as long as usual for the amount of miles because we had to keep crossing the creek without getting our feet wet!
Still some snow up in the mountains! I step in some and went knee deep in it!

Surprisingly the only sign of wildlife we saw here was a bunny, which was too fast to take a picture of =(

This river comes out of one side of the lake and feeds the creek that we followed on the trail.

Pretty soon we are going to visit Estes Park and see The Stanley Hotel, where The Shining was filmed!! Will def blog about that! Also coming soon: our apartment and a compilation video of our life out here so far.
