Hey Guys! We went camping last Tuesday/Wednesday in Gunnison and had a blast! On Tuesday morning we drove down to Gunnison and hung out for a while, then we picked up a Jeep that we rented and drove out to Soap Creek Campground. It was a beautiful drive down to Gunnison and an even more gorgeous campsite!! One of the shortest, but best trips I've been on!
Sorry it's extremely long, but I promise it's almost all pictures from here!
On the drive down...
I love the shadows that the clouds make on the mountains! So much here that I've never seen before =)
One of my favorites =)
Stopped at a scenic overlook...
One thing that you do not see in the south is old abandoned mines. Saw this on the side of the highway so we pulled over to get a pic =D
This is the Jeep we rented! It was awesome to drive on the dirt and rocks without having to worry about hurting my car!

Blue Mesa Resevoir
We spotted these guys drinking from the lake =)
This dam is so small compared to Buford Dam!
We saw so much wildlife on this trip!
These cows have the weirdest forelocks I've ever seen... anyone know what breed they are??
Had to Google mammals in Colorado to find out that this is a Marmot... cute little guy =)
Awesome view we had from the campsite...

Camp Hemphill
Beautiful sunset sky
Most vivid rainbow I have ever seen... it was actually a double, you can see the fainter one above the bright one.
Beautiful morning clouds...
Pictures from our morning hike...

Cool caves in the side of the cliff...
Small group of pretty redneck houses... guess that's not just in the south!
Some pics from the drive down to Lake City, CO...

Red Fork Creek
On the drive to Carson...
Lake San Cristobal... the second largest natural lake in CO! And gorgeous too! Nestled in the San Juan Mountains, at 9000 feet!
Cool cave we found off the side of the highway...
Alferd Packer has an interesting story about Cannibalism... you should read this plaque... it is at the murder site of Israel Swan, George Noon, Frank Miller, James Humphreys, and Wilson Bell.
Modern forensic scientists say that Alferd's account of the story is true....
Right outside of Frisco on the way home after an awesome weekend!
This is not from the trip, but how could I leave out this cute little guy? Gizmo laid on the couch and let me throw a laundry basket full of clothes on him while I was sorting laundry =) so cute!
