Hey everyone! Well it seems like winter may finally be over except for some late spring snow flurries, which means it's time for hiking! Two weeks ago we attempted to find a hiking trail called Beaver Brook/Chavez Trail Loop, but accidentally ended up here instead:
This is a Bison ranch that is only about 20 miles outside of Denver… pretty cool =)
We turned the wrong way off the highway and went to the wrong park, at least there was a little bit of a trail to go on...
Today we actually made it to the Beaver Brook/Chavez Trail Loop. It was a great hiking trail! Only about 4 miles, but has some really strenuous areas. Steep grades at points, and even some rock climbing!
Izzy was very happy to be able to swim again!
I think Gizmo likes running over wooden bridges as much as Izzy likes swimming
In the midst of this beautiful forest we are quickly reminded of how close we are to Denver… at least we only saw one of these!

JC getting creative with the camera =)
And here's Gizmo and the bridge again =)
Even tho Gizmo is a Shih Tzu he really loves hiking!
JC slipped and his hand landed on a cactus and he got needles in his finger =(
Still some snow over this creek in the mountains
We moved into our new apartment at the end of January and I don't think I've actually shard the view that we have from our living room. It's hard to capture the second set of mountains behind the one you see on the camera. They are usually white with snow, so they blend in with the clouds.
I'll leave you with a shot of Gizmo being cute as usual =)
